Are there still prophets?

Question: When it comes to prophets, are we supposed to consult them? Isn't that like witchcraft? I was told there was a prophet at the church I used to attend. I thought prophet meant prophecies for the entire church or things to pass for the entire church, not what's going to happen in an individuals life. Doesn't the Bible already do that? Is that not the function of the prophet? In todays times what would they forecast? Or does it mean spiritualist, aren't all saints spiritualist?
Answer: We do not know what you mean by the term 'spiritualist.' Usually this term refers to fortune tellers and those sorts of people. As for prophets, yes, there are prophets in the church today. And not all prophecy is for the church at large. We have a clear example in the book of Acts when a prophet named Agabus took Paul's belt, bound his own hands and feet, and said, 'Thus says the Holy Spirit,'So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man who owns this belt, and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles'' (Acts 21:11). This prophecy was to an individual, but it was in the company of the church. The important thing is that all prophecy be evaluated by mature and spiritually sensitive observers (see 1 Corinthians 14:29).
